3 Top Fashion Models That Are Here To Stay

The world of fashion is filled with glamour, luxury, creative expression and most especially, beautiful people. These beautiful people are thrust into the limelight of runway shows, magazine covers, and magazine campaigns. Jetsetting from one city to the next, and working with world-renowned photographers and designers, these fashion models seem to be having it all. But let’s talk about three particular women who have managed to raise the stakes in the name of fashion. As the most sought-after and highly-paid women, these models have truly made their marks. In this article, we will get to know three of the most influential top fashion models in the world right now.

  • Liu Wen

Possibly one of the most successful Asian models in the world, Liu Wen has an impressive record of industry firsts. She is the first Asian to walk as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, was named “China’s first bona fide supermodel” by The New York Times, and the first to make Forbe’s magazine’s annual highest-paid models list. This is a serious repertoire for any model, much more for a model of East Asian descent.

Initially, Wen was not interested in modeling. She joined the New Silk Road Model Contest in 2005 to win the grand prize – a computer. But she quickly fell into model work after that, and eventually landed big gigs like being featured in the Chinese Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. She was later discovered by an international agent and was signed by Marilyn in Paris. Wen has since built a solid career for herself, walking for top fashion houses like Chanel, Tom Ford, and Proenza Schouler. She has also been featured in major campaigns including Tifanny’s and Tory Burch. In 2017, Wen became one of the top 10 highest paid models in the world and earned an estimated worth of $6.5 million.

  • Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner was first known as a member of the Kardashian-Jenner household who shot to fame through their hit reality TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. At age 14, she started her professional modeling career after she signed with Wilhelmina Models. Among her earliest work was a campaign with famous fashion brand, Forever21 and some features in Teen Vogue.

It was in 2014 when her career really took off. By the end of the year, she’s walked for Chanel, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana and had a string of major ad campaigns with the likes of Givenchy. She became an Estee Lauder representative that same year and was considered the “It” girl of the season. Since then, Jenner has grown to become a global face in fashion, even taking the top spot in Forbe’s annual list of highest-paid models by the end of 2017.

  • Adriana Lima

You would think that by the age of 37, Adriana would let up the competition a little. However, this supermodel is still giving everyone a run for their money, proving that there is no expiration date to modeling. This Brazilian-born beauty started her career early, and by 15 she took the first place on Ford’s “Supermodel of Brazil” search. Three years later, she was living in New York as a full-time model, having been signed with Elite Model Management. Since then, it was smooth sailing for Lima, landing runway shows and countless magazine covers around the world.

However, Lima is best known for being a Victoria’s Secret Angel, joining the ranks of other supermodels like Tyra Banks and Gisele Bundchen. She has been walking the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion show almost every year, wearing the line’s Fantasy Bra two times in 2008 and 2010 and shared the privilege the third time with fellow angel Alessandra Ambrosio. She was named “the most valuable Victoria’s Secret Angel” by analytics company D’Marie. In the same year, Lima allegedly earned $10.5 million through modeling projects.
